Home@735 Gallery director Madeleine Preston will be exhibiting a new iteration of her work ‘Darlinghurst Eats It’s Young’ at Stills Gallery in Paddington opening on Wednesday the 4th of March from 6-8pm. Preston’s photographic installation was last shown in 2013 at Gertrude Contemporary in Melbourne which was curated by Glenn Barkley. The Stills Gallery show titled Bookmarked, features a number of artists including Stills artists Anne Ferran, Chris Fortesque, Louis Porter, Trent Parke and Melbourne artist Danny Digby. Bookmarked will celebrate artist books in all their forms, from handcrafted one-offs to self-published photobooks, sculptural creations and vintage punk fanzines. Bookmarked is a curated group exhibition that allows visitors to get lost between the pages. The exhibition will also feature a residency by the Asia Pacific Photobook Archive, a not-for-profit open-access archive that promotes the ‘real’ way to see photobooks—that means hands-on and paper pages. The curated selection and comfy seats will let you kick back, relax, and enjoy these rarely seen publications.
