ARTIST GAIL PRIEST AWARDED AUSTRALIA COUNCIL FELLOWSHIP 2014

Congratulations to artist and curator Gail Priest who has been awarded an Australia Council Fellowship 2014. Fellowships are awarded to outstanding established artists for creative activity and professional development.

Gail is a Sydney-based sound artist whose work includes live electroacoustic performance, soundtracks for dance, theatre and video and sound installations. She has released six albums and has been commissioned to make a number of radiophonic works for ABC Radio. She has also curated events for Artspace, Performance Space and MCA ArtBar. She has written extensively about sound and media arts for RealTime magazine and was the editor of the book Experimental Music: audio explorations in Australia (UNSW Press, 2009).
